El Calafate is on the southern shore of Lago Argentino, in Argentina’s world-famous Patagonia. Among the attractions are the Glacier National Park at more than 600,000 hectares of majestic glaciers, lakes, mountains, and forests. The most visited glacier is the magnificent Perito Moreno, declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO, and where excursions leave on foot, 4x4, or by boat.
